In my last post I started to discuss ways to make your home healthy, but the most important thing you can do for a healthy home is to have a home that you love. When you walk in the door after work you want to feel comfortable, safe, and happy to be home. So the key to a healthy home is a home that suits your personality, needs, and preferences. Essentially, you need to have a home that emits “Good Vibes.”
The Urban Dictionary defines Good Vibes as:
“All of the people, places, ideas, and possibilities that evoke positive, safe, happy sensations.”
So Good Vibes are going to be different for everyone. You may like to have bright lights in your living room, your neighbor may prefer dim lights. You may enjoy the smell of lavender, while your sister prefers citrus. Whatever makes you feel happy, will make your home a happy place. So to make your home healthy for you, it needs to be set up according to your preferences.
That’s really what Life Styles Spaces is about; creating your spaces to suit your life style. A comfortable, welcoming, happy home will do wonders for your health. Having a place where you feel relaxed will give you the space to rejuvenate. Cleaning, eating fresh produce, having sunlight and fresh air are all really good things for your health, but creating a home that suits you is equally, if not more, important.
So if the paint color of your foyer makes you cringe every time you walk in the door, repaint. If you stub your toe on the coffee table every time you walk by, move it. Simple changes will go a long way toward making your home healthy and happy.
How have you incorporated Good Vibes into your home? I would love to hear your story! Email me and you may be featured in an upcoming post.
